"Delay Rule" overturned!

In a startling development, the GOP has reversed itself on the "Delay Rule".

Additionally, in a move that is said to "take the bullets out of Pelosi's gun" according to Rep. Zack Wamp (R-TN), the Republican majority has also instituted a rule that now mandates a majority ruling of the ethics panel to sanction House members. Prior to this ruling, if the committee, which is split evenly between Republicans and Democrats, was deadlocked for 45 days - the ruling would then go against the accused; as in the case of Tom Delay (R-TX).

I think that Tom Delay should be prosecuted (none / 0)

We need a COMPLETE overhaul of the way politics, politicians and elections are financed in this country.

Desperately....

Why not replace the whole thing with a system of websites and mailed pamphlets, in which each side can clearly state their case.

Then ban political advertising.

And hold politicians to their promises!!!

Your comments made me realize the following:

Wouldn't it be great if there were an oversight group that took note of a candidates campaign promises, then kept track of he fulfilled (or contradicted) them while he was in office?

Then, they could issue a rating (like the NRA, AFL-CIO, etc... do).

Wouldn't that be fantastic?
